Butchering Chickens *my first time

Recently our Roosters started making noise and we aren’t allowed to keep roosters in our neighborhood. I knew it was time to butcher our chickens but I wasn’t sure how I felt about it.

Initially, I planned to use a killing cone because I’ve heard it’s more humane. This time though, I chose to chop the heads off with an ax.

You can watch my experience here.

I’m so grateful my dad showed me how to butcher chickens. I feel confident I could do it on my own the next time. We plan to keep most of our chickens for eggs but we will definitely be butchering a few more.

Thanks for reading and/or watching my experience. If you like this information, consider leaving me your email (down below) so you know when I post in the future.
